Corrs Chambers Westgarth expanded its tax team with the hire of Jennee Chan from Allens in mid-2020, with the specialist indirect tax practitioner bolstering the firm’s offering particularly in relation to real estate and infrastructure work. The team has continued to work on tax structures for a variety of high-profile M&A, as well as working with major corporate and private equity clients on GST-related issues. Practice head Rhys Jewell takes the lead on M&A tax structuring, working with corporate and private equity clients on an array of cross-border deals, with Sydney’s Mark Payne also specialising in corporate taxation. Cameron Rider combines transactional advisory work with support in tax controversies and litigation. Lawyers are in Melbourne unless otherwise stated.
