Career
Beverly Kennedy has acted in some of Victoria’s highest profile environmental impact assessments and is an expert in planning, environment and regulatory approvals. She has been the key advisor to Victorian Government on projects such as the Victorian Desalination Project, Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewal Project and Victorian Advanced Resource Recovery Initiative. Beverly is also a recognised expert in legislation drafting, statutory interpretation and policy and regulatory reform. She is the regular adviser to a number of statutory authorities across a broad range of issues, not limited to planning and environment. Although based in Melbourne, Beverly has a vibrant and developing practice in Perth, servicing Energy and Resources clients, including international miners. Her practice is informed by up-to-date knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency and climate change developments and creativity in dealing with the legal challenges posed by technological innovation.
