Career

I trained at a niche practice in Leeds called Spencer Ewin Mulvihill , qualifying in November 1997.  It was a commercial chancery training doing mortgage repossession claims, commercial actions and insolvency.

I moved to Last Cawthra Fearther, now a Leeds based practice and continued doing the wide variety of work that came my way of a contentious commercial nature,  I started that practices insolvency work, becoming partner in 2001. Moved here in 2005 as head of commercial litigation on the retirement of David Forth.  Dealing with high value commercial litigation contractual disputes and with a speciality in asset recovery and fraud on behalf of companies inside and outside of insolvency.

"I live with my family and 2 horses on a hillside. I love to ski and am a BASI Level 1 qualified instructor. I spend a lot of time outdoors. I am a foodie and like to cook and love going to the cinema when baby sitters allow. I also drive an old Land Rover called Ethylred (recently reconstruced out of necessity!), have a love for joinery and collect locks and keys."

Working in conjunction with the firm’s dispute resolution and insolvency practices, Short Richardson & Forth acts for firms of solicitors, recruitment agencies, construction hire and supply companies alongside letting agencies, private landlords and SMEs and predominately handles claimant instructions. In recent work, team head Tim Berg represented a law firm in pursuing outstanding invoices; he also advises on insolvency law matters. Associate Alexandra Withers  is another key member of the team.
