Position

Geraint is a principal associate planning lawyer with experience in all aspects of the planning system on both contentious and non-contentious matters. He acts for a broad range of clients providing specialist advice in connection with the negotiation of planning agreements, planning appeals, judicial review, due diligence exercises as well as providing strategic and technical advice to housebuilders, landowners and developers.

His recent experience includes:

  • Acting for housebuilders in connection with the negotiation and conclusion of s.75 Agreements to secure the release of planning permissions across Scotland.
  • Acting for international investment funds in respect of complex due diligence exercises to unlock large scale development sites across the UK.
  • Provision of technical and strategic advice in respect of the purchase and sale of development sites across Scotland for residential development, education, PBSA and BTR purposes.
  • Acting for renewable energy developers in respect of planning and roads agreements.

 

Career

Geraint holds chartered status as a Town Planner, has been a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute since 2010 and is recognised as a Key Lawyer in the 2023 Legal 500 rankings.
