Position

Kung Suan Im is a Partner in the Banking and Finance practice group. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (Hons) from the University of Malaya and a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from the University of Hull. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaya in 1990.

Suan Im practices all areas of banking and finance, including corporate banking, syndications, project financing, acquisition financing, debt capital market financing, Sukuk, other capital market financing works and cross border financing. Over a period of 25 years of active practice, her experiences in these areas cover both conventional and Islamic financings, representing local and foreign financial institutions and corporates.

She is named in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021 as Recommended Lawyer for Banking & Finance and Capital Markets/Islamic Finance for Malaysia, and ranked in Chambers Asia Pacific 2021 – Leading Individual (Band 3) in Banking & Finance for Malaysia.
