Jimmy’s main areas of practice for non-contentious work are Indonesia related corporate and commercial matters – such as investment into Indonesia, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and franchising & licensing. In addition, he also focuses on Singapore and Hong Kong IPO-related legal due diligence.

For contentious matters, his primary focus is on Adjudication (Building and Construction) under the Security of Payment Act, and International Arbitration. He was cited by Asialaw Leading Lawyers 2008 as one of the legal experts in the Asia-Pacific region in the areas of Dispute Resolution, and Construction & Property.

Some notable cases that Jimmy was involved in:

1. Acted for several SGX-listed companies in conducting legal due diligence on their Singapore and Indonesia subsidiaries in connection with dual listing in HK;
2. Acted for a Malaysia listed company in the acquisition of a cigarette printing company in Indonesia;
3. Acted for a SGX-listed company in a joint venture via subscription of new shares in an Indonesia company to develop a 5-star hotel in Indonesia;
4. Acted for an Indonesia company in a joint venture with a China steel company in building Indonesia’s largest steel and iron plant, coking plant, jetty and rolling plant in an industrial park in Indonesia, worth at least USD1 billion investment;
5. Acted for a SGX-listed company in acquiring the shares of a local Indonesia company that was granted land concession from Batam government for property development;
