Dyah Soewito is a specialist in Indonesian oil and gas law, foreign investment law, maritime law, and real estate, construction, corporate and commercial law. Speaking about Ms. Soewito, one client said she "excels in face-to-face negotiations thanks to her complete knowledge of relevant legislation and accurate analysis of the positions of various parties” (Chambers Asia).

Ms. Soewito was a member of the Board of Advisors of the ELIPS Project, Indonesia's commercial law reform project and one of the largest undertakings of its kind in the world, from 1992 to 1996. She helped write Indonesia's foreign investment law and from 1995 to 1999 assisted a private sector client to prepare recommendations for Indonesian government policy on the development of a major gas project.

Ms. Soewito has been recognized by Asia Law & Practice as one of Indonesia's leading practitioners in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, property, shipping, and maritime and aviation law, by IFLR1000 as one of the leading Indonesian practitioners in mergers and acquisitions, and by Chambers Asia as one of the top real estate lawyers in Indonesia.

Ms. Soewito has been a guest speaker at numerous domestic and international conferences and has lectured at various government agencies, including the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Finance.

Ms. Soewito graduated from the University of Indonesia Faculty of Law in 1977 and in 1988 was a visiting scholar at the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. Also in 1988, she participated in the Academy of American and International Law in Dallas, Texas.

SSEK Legal Consultants has a strong background in mining, oil and gas, and power projects, and has an increasing focus on geothermal projects. Michael Carl advised China Hongqiao on the financing and development of an alumina refinery project. Ira Eddymurthy and Dewi Savitri Reni advised the Indonesian Ministry of Finance and Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and Pertamina together on developing an oil and gas state-owned enterprise. Dyah Soewito acted for Enscoloan on its agreement with an Indonesian company and its foreign shareholder for financing the purchase of an oil drilling rig. Also recommended are Fitriana Mahiddin, who is an expert in oil and gas, mining and private power; project finance specialist Michael Twomey; and Syahdan Aziz, who is skilled in the natural resources sector. Darrell Johnson is also noted for advising on oil and gas and geothermal projects.

SSEK Legal Consultants' skillset in shipping includes advising on cabotage rules, port projects, as well as ship and rig leasing. Dyah Soewito co-heads the team and assisted Ensco with a loan agreement to finance an oil drilling rig.  Fellow practice head Michael Twomey recently advised Coeclerici and Mitra Bathera Segarasejati on its joint venture which involved the sale of a pontoon crane vessel to an Indonesian shipping company.
