Woo Hyun Baik is a tax attorney/CPA at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in finance tax and general tax consulting.

Mr. Baik has over 35 years of experience in advising companies on a wide range of corporate and business tax issues, including finance tax, corporate tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring. In particular, as a tax attorney in the firm’s Finance Tax Practice, Mr. Baik specializes in providing comprehensive tax advice on financial derivatives, securities lending and borrowing, structured financing, acquisitions or sales of equities, and debt securities.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Baik worked at Samil Accounting Corporation for approximately three years.

Mr. Baik has co-authored various articles in major legal publications, including the Korea chapter in World Tax (2011-2018) and the Korea chapter in Getting the Deal Through – Tax Controversy (2018). Mr. Baik has also been recognized as a Leading Individual by Chambers Asia-Pacific thirteen years in a row (2011-2023).

Mr. Baik received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and a B.Bus. from the College of Business Administration at Seoul National University in 1978. He is a certified public accountant in Korea and California.
