Career

Hyun Gyu Lee is an attorney at Kim & Chang, with over 12 years of litigation, investigation and counsel experience in both the private and public sectors. He primarily practices in the field of antitrust and competition, unfair trade practices, administrative litigation and general business criminal defense.

Before joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Lee spent several years actively involved in many of the major cases concerning cartels, abuse of market dominant position and unfair trade practices. From 2015 to 2018, he also served as a law clerk specializing in antitrust and competition law at the Supreme Court of Korea, where he had the experience of researching and reporting on various significant antitrust and competition issues.

Apart from his time at a Korean law firm and the Supreme Court, Mr. Lee has also worked as a competition law consultant of the Content Dispute Resolution Committee in 2012, and an international attorney at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Atlanta office in 2014. In addition, he has authored and co-authored various publications in the field of antitrust and competition law.

Mr. Lee received an LL.M. from Emory University School of Law in 2015 and an LL.B. from College of Law, Korea University in 2002. He graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 2007. He was admitted to the Korea bar in 2007 and to the New York bar in 2017.
