Joanna is a specialist in all aspects of family law with particular focus on financial matters involving private company, offshore assets or an international element.  Joanna also has a keen interest in private children matters.  Joanna is keen to explore alternative dispute resolution, partcularly utilising the collaborative process or arbitration.

Joanna is the Managing Director of Hawkins Family Law.

Career

Joanna qualified in 1992 and since then has worked exclusively in the Family Law area.  She completed her training in Cambridge before moving to J. Garrard & Allen in Olney where in 1994 she became Partner.  In 2001, recognising the need for a different approach to Family Law she established Hawkins Family Law as a niche family law boutique practice.  Joanna qualifed as a Family Law Arbitrator in 2013, is a Collaborative Lawyer, a trained Family Mediator and an Accredited Specialist in cases involving substantial assets and children matters.

Memberships

Jo is a member of Resolution and is a committee member of the Milton Keynes Resolution, an Accredited Specialist of Resolution in complex financial and property matters (high income households and substantial assets) and children law – disputes between partents or relatives.  A member of Milton Keynes Collaborative POD.  Jo is also a member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
