Career

Gary is a partner of our Corporate Finance Practice Group and is based in Hong Kong. He has over 13 years’ experience in the corporate finance field and his practice involves corporate finance and securities work, including initial public offerings, secondary share offers, public and private mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, private equity transactions and advising on compliance with the Companies Ordinance, the Listing Rules and the Takeovers Code. He also has experience in conducting regulatory investigation works.

Gary has provided legal advice on equity capital market transactions to sponsors and underwriters including Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C., CCB International Capital Limited, China Merchant Securities (HK) Co., Limited, Innovax Capital Limited, Giraffe Capital Limited, DBS Asia Capital Limited, Guosen Securities (HK) Capital Company Limited, Kingsway Capital Limited, South China Capital Limited and Emperor Capital Limited.

He has also provided legal advice to enterprises in respect of their listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange including Ausnutria Dairy Corporation Ltd, Country Garden Holdings Company Limited, Changsheng China Property Company Limited, Trio Industrial Electronics Group Limited, Elec & Eltek International Company Limited, Smart Globe Holdings Limited and Jiande International Holdings Limited.

Gary’s experience on equity capital market transactions cover a variety of businesses, such as real estate development, coke and coking chemicals, electronic EMS manufacturing, semi-conductor manufacturing, provision of solar energy, condiment manufacturing, gaming and entertainment, dairy products, medicine manufacturing, provision of education services, securities trading etc.

Gary has also worked on private placement of shares, warrants and convertible bonds, rights issues, bonus issues and other Listing Rules compliance work. His experience also includes takeovers of listed companies under the Takeovers Code and reverse takeover cases.
