Career

As one of the founding members of Siam Premier, Phisud is recognized by his peers and clients as an expert in the fields of banking and finance, foreign investment law, government contracts, dispute management between private sector and government sector entities, and litigation in Thailand. He is often entrusted by large foreign and domestic corporations to formulate and advise on complex legal matters in a governmental, regulatory and institutional context.

Throughout his distinguished legal career spanning over three decades, Phisud has played an instrumental role in advising on and structuring complex deals and transactions which have contributed to the growth of Thailand’s private sector. As one of Thailand’s most respected attorneys, Phisud’s counsel is regularly sought by a diverse range of multinational and domestic investors, particularly in relation to sensitive matters involving negotiations with the Thai government. His intimate knowledge of Thai governmental decision-making processes and local business practices and his respected network of contacts within the Thai government bureaucracy mean that Phisud is often relied on for his strategic advice by clients bidding for state projects and government licensing, as well as dispute management and settlement advice.

In particular, Phisud has been the lead advisor to numerous private enterprises in relation to applications for government licensing in the areas of life insurance, telecommunications, transportation, and banking. In addition to his private sector experience, Phisud has played an integral part in the development of Thai government institutions, having advised various government agencies and state enterprises on their management, policy-making investments and on expanding their activities, including outbound investments abroad.

Phisud is also recognized as a pioneer in respect of his successful pursuit of the standardization of the ASEAN Economic Community’s criteria for regulatory approvals. Through Siam Premier, Phisud has established far-reaching legal coverage of the ASEAN markets to assist clients from within the region, and across the globe with ASEAN-specific advice and regulatory approval services as well as cross-border dispute resolution.
