Career
Talat plays a pivotal role in the IP practice of the Firm. Her expertise extends to the entire gamut of IP laws including advising, managing and maintaining IP portfolios of clients in diverse fields. She has extensively handled trademark licensing issues and passing off dynamics. She has successfully ensured protection of valuable IP Rights. She has substantial experience in strategizing and handling contentious and non-contentious matters pertaining to IP (including, enforcements, advisory and transactional work). She has assisted in the registration of Trademarks and Service marks in India, US, EU, and other convention jurisdictions.
Talat started her career in the area of cross-border investments and advising global clients on Indian foreign exchange controls. In the course of the same, Talat built up a practice in the area of Intellectual Property Rights.
Talat has been previously recognised as a leading lawyer in the area of Banking & Finance due to her handling of Securitisation practice.
Having opted to re-orient her focus and priorities, she now works mainly in the area of Trademarks. She has been recognised as a “Market Leading lawyer” for Intellectual Property.

Talat is a law graduate from the Government Law College, Mumbai University and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. She has completed her B.A. in Economics from Mumbai University.
