Insolvency and Corporate Recovery

Position

Paul is the head of insolvency and corporate recovery within the Dispute Resolution team and specialises in all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency work and is predominately instructed by Insolvency Practitioners.

Paul also act for individuals and directors of corporate entities in relation to pre and post insolvency advice. Given Paul’s knowledge of and work with insolvency practitioners he is extremely well placed to advise on the options available, the consequences of insolvency and to give practical advice on dealing with an insolvency practitioner.

Career

Paul trained and qualified at DWF LLP working in their insolvency and corporate recovery team for 10 years (2002-2012) before joining SAS Daniels in 2012 to set up the insolvency and corporate recovery team.

Associate member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.

University of Leeds (1997-2000); College of Law, Chester (CPE, LPC 2000-2002)

SAS Daniels LLP regularly handles general commercial disputes, as well as property, fraud, negligence, construction and probate-related litigation. Paul Formby, who heads the insolvency and corporate recovery department, and senior associate Anna Barnes, who specialises in contractual, shareholder and partnership disputes, lead head the team. Roger Allsup is noted for contentious construction instructions. Senior associates Hannah Leese, who is noted for her experience of the food sector, and Ray Woodward, who specialises in property litigation, professional negligence claims and freezing orders, are also key members of the team. Former team head Christopher MacCafferty recently retired.
