Notable Cases
- Seddons has advised Maslow Global Limited, a leading provider of real estate development finance, and its management team on the sale by the management team of a significant minority interest to Arrow Global Limited, a leading European investor and alternative asset manager in credit and real estate.
- Seddons has acted in the defence of a substantial claim (£50 million plus) and freezing injunction commenced by a large body of claimants
- Seddons has acted for the Claimants in a dispute over a multi-million property portfolio involving allegations of dishonesty, negligence and breach of director’s duties agreeing heads of terms for a substantial settlement.
- Seddons has acted for the sole beneficiary of a deceased testator with a circa £3 million estate whose relatives (those entitled on an intestacy) asserted undue influence on the part of our client in the preparation of the will. The case settled at a hard-fought mediation with our client retaining the lion’s share of the estate.
- Seddons has acted for the defendant (a Liechtenstein Anstalt) whose founder, the claimant’s elder son, faced proceedings by his father, through his mother as the litigation friend, to set aside the transfer to the Anstalt of some £2.5 million of London property based on incapacity and undue influence. Our client was prepared to return the properties subject to their being protected from his younger brother who, our client alleged, was controlling the proceedings for his own financial benefit. This necessitated an application to remove the claimant’s litigation friend and replace her with an independent one. The application failed at first instance but succeeded on appeal. The underlying proceedings immediately settled.
