Position

“Rebecca is an excellent mediator, carefully and adeptly handling the factual, legal and emotional issues. I would certainly use her again.” (Partner, City Law Firm, September 2018).

A rising star of the mediation profession, Rebecca has a unique range and depth of mediation experience which has enabled her to make a real impact within a relatively short period of time.

With a flexible and adaptable approach to mediation, Rebecca regards mediation as a party led process, investing time before a mediation to ensure all parties are prepared and at ease. As a result, Rebecca is particularly good at developing an effective rapport. Rebecca is also extremely tenacious, working hard to assist parties to reach an acceptable solution through careful preparation, effective communication and a real commercial and legal intelligence.

“Because of Rebecca Clark’s patience and tenacity, we were able to resolve a very complex dispute…She is an extraordinarily good listener and quickly focused on the key legal and psychological components to resolving the case. Her candour was appreciated, and her energy and enthusiasm for her craft most evident. She demonstrated a truly unique level of engagement and commitment to the success of the mediation.”

As a result of her prior experience, Rebecca is particularly renowned for her Financial Services expertise and for disputes involving SMEs. However, she also regularly mediates shareholder disputes, claims against Directors and claims by Insolvency Practitioners as well claims for breach of contract, professional negligence, breach of warranty and property law matters. She is also particularly experienced in claims involving allegations of fraud.

Career

Rebecca has been a full-time mediator since 2015 and joined In Place of Strife, The Mediation Chambers shortly thereafter.

Prior to becoming a mediator, Rebecca was Head of Litigation at a major lender, being recognised as Legal Counsel of the Year at the 2013 British Legal Awards. She has also spent time as a solicitor in private practice.

Rebecca has also set up, managed and ultimately sold her own retail business giving her first-hand knowledge of the issues faced by SMEs on a day to day basis. Rebecca was delighted to have been awarded the Draper’s Award for Best Kidswear Retailer in 2009.
