Sarah joined the Private Client Team at Roythornes in 2015. She is highly experienced in the creation of wills and trusts. Sarah’s focus is particularly on the provision of advice to those involved in farming and agriculture but also for individuals and family businesses. She has broad experience of probate and the administration of estates, often acting for estates where there is a contentious element to the administration. She also works with clients who wish to prepare Lasting of Powers of Attorney and acted in providing advice to elderly and vulnerable individuals and their families on practice and procedure in the Court of Protection.

Sarah has acted for a number of trustees and trusts providing advice on the protection, organisation and taxation of trust assets. In addition Sarah has acted in advising individuals on achieving their philanthropic ambitions through the creation and administration of charitable trusts and interaction with the Charity Commission.



Sarah is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) having completed their diploma in 2007 and a member of the Agricultural Law Association.

Roythornes Solicitors regularly assists with the administration of high-value estates involving agricultural and business assets. Succession planning expert Elizabeth Young heads the team, which was strengthened with the arrival of Paul Thompson from Freeths LLP. Jarred Wright, whose specialisms include handling partnership restructuring, company reorganisations and Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies matters for landed estates, landowners and food and farming businesses, and Sarah Banner, whose core areas of work include the creation and registration of charitable trusts, are also noted. Recent work includes assisting the executors of a deceased farmer with the administration of the deceased’s estate, involving agricultural property relief and business property relief.
