Peter joined Roythornes in January 2016 as part of our Agriculture, Food and Litigation teams.
Peter advises clients on a wide range of commercial disputes including partnership and shareholder disputes, banking litigation, agency law, contractual disputes and professional negligence claims
He has a national reputation for successfully handling complex cases against the Rural Payments Agency and Defra, particularly in the area of fruit and vegetable producer organisations (POs) and subsidies. These cases often have a European dimension and Peter has acted in the European Court of Justice.

Peter was instructed by the farmers whose livestock contracted Foot and Mouth Disease in 2007 (and the associated test cases), giving rise to the important decision of D Pride and Partners and Others v (1) Institute for Animal Health (2) Merial Animal Health Limited and (3) DEFRA. [2009] All E.R. (D) 09.
