Julia is a Corporate and Commercial lawyer who joined the firm in 2014, having spent her recent career working in industry as a General Counsel, leading legal teams for both a large international travel retail PLC and a European privately owned financial services business.

Julia has expertise in dealing with a broad range of corporate and commercial issues, including drafting and negotiating complex contracts, advising on consumer protection, assisting businesses in protecting their brand/intellectual property, advising in relation to large procurement and IT projects and licences, and advising in relation to franchise, distribution and out-sourcing arrangements.  Julia also has experience in transactional work, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures.

Having sat on various Executive and Risk Management Boards as Legal Director, Julia also has experience in dealing with corporate governance/company secretarial issues and regulatory compliance.  She has assisted companies in managing highly sensitive financial and reputational issues to resolution.

Julia is recognised for her balanced and sensible approach in dealing with legal matters and, having spent many years working alongside clients within their organisations, she understands the business drivers and brings a particularly risk-based, pragmatic and problem-solving approach to the table.  She is also known for being highly personable and approachable.

Julia qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and has City experience, having spent her early career as a Corporate Associate at Freshfields in London.
