Gavin has been the Managin Partner of Stowe Family Law's London Chancery Lane office since its inception in 2012.  He joined the firm's Harrogate head office in 2007 and has also worked in the Altrincham branch.

Gavin has become widely known for his direct and proactive approach to resolving cases.  He is extremely good with clients, often being said to have empowered them.

He has a thorough knowledge of all aspects of family law. He is a specialist in complex and high asset financial matters, in particular involving businesses, trusts and overseas assets. With attention to detail in financial disclosure, there have been a number of matters in which Gavin has uncovered hidden and undisclosed assets.

Notably, Gavin Scott has been involved in a number of matters dealing with worldwide freezing injunctions and obtaining reciprocal freezing orders abroad. He also deals with a number of children cases including those concerning shared residence, removal from the jurisdiction and financial provision for a child.

In 2010, Gavin trained as a mediator and since then he has also been helping couples resolve their disputes in mediation.

Gavin has also advised international family law clients in jurisdictions including the United States, Australia, Europe and the Republic of Ireland.




Gavin studied Law at Glamorgan University, Wales, and obtained his Legal Practice Diploma at Leeds University.

Gavin has been practising Family Law since 2001 and qualified in 2003.
