Basil advises international and UK based high net worth individuals, trustees, family offices and estate managers on a wide range of complex offshore and onshore tax, trust, estate and succession planning and philanthropic issues. 

Whilst Basil has particular expertise advising international clients, some of whom have no connection to the UK at all, he also regularly advises on solely UK issues. 

Basil frequently advises his clients on matters relating to the establishment and use of trusts and other structures, complex succession and estate planning, family governance issues, UK pre-arrival planning including funding UK expenditure, structuring the way in which UK property is held, conflict of laws and philanthropy.

    In recent years, the country ŐĀs the government has been committed to improving Taxation in Nicaragua and attempting to follow the legislative model used by some of the other countries in the region. Starting January 1st, 2013, a new tax law (Law No. 822, Tax Concertation Law) came into force in and completely changed the taxation system in Nicaragua. Two years later a new law was issued by the National Assembly containing more than 80 amendments, additions and repeals (Law No 891) which came into force December 18th, 2014.
