Career

Richard has many years’ experience in resolving property disputes. He has a broad practice in contentious matters concerning real estate. He has a particular focus on commercial landlord and tenant disputes including lease renewals, alienation, debt recovery, service charges and dilapidations and possession claims. He also has experience of residential matters including lease extensions and enfranchisement, and property-related matters including freedom of information, insolvency and professional negligence. Particular specialisms include issues arising from advertising hoardings, the Pubs Code and party walls.
Prior to joining RLS Law, he worked at Lovells/Hogan Lovells and Mishcon de Reya, in the course of which he advised a varied range of institutional, corporate and entreprenerial clients.
Richard has published articles on a number of topics in various property journals including Estates Gazette, Property Week, Property Law Journal and RICS Commercial Property Journal and is a regular speaker on real estate issues at conferences and other events.
