Position

Jagvinder is a director and co-founder of Technology Law Alliance, where he advises clients ranging from innovative start-ups to FTSE100 companies on IT, outsourcing, e-commerce and commercial contracts. He qualified as a software engineer (with a first class BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering), before qualifying as a technology lawyer (with a distinction in Law). Jagvinder has had over 100 articles published as cover and feature technology law articles in the legal and business press, including a regular IT law column in Computing magazine. He also presents masterclasses on the legal aspects of matters such as offshore outsourcing and cloud computing.

1995 – 1996 Nottingham Law School LPC, Law (distinction). 1994 – 1995 University of Birmingham CPE, Law BSc, Computer Science and Software Engineering (First Class BSc (Hons) degree); awarded three University commendations; awarded Faculty of Science Award; qualified as a software engineer; completed academic requirements for Chartered Engineer Status.

The ‘excellentTechnology Law Alliance  is a specialist technology firm that is ‘succinct in its responses’ and ‘extremely thorough’. Jagvinder Kang co-heads the team, with notable expertise in outsourcing, e-commerce and IT contracts. He recently advised Warner Bros on its IT arrangements, and also has Webroot and Wesleyan as clients. Fellow practice head Stephen Ollerenshaw focuses on high-profile outsourcing matters and recently advised Capgemini UK on delivering Oracle implementation services to a consortium of UK police and emergency services. He also assisted Draycir with software licenses and SaaS agreements.
