  • Defending clients (who are among 47 defendants) against a $874m fraud claim that was brought by the public institution responsible for operating the state of Kuwait’s social security system and pension scheme.
  • Acted for Ahmad Hamad Algosaibi & Brothers Company in its claims against Al Sanea (and his Saad Group), concerning his role in an alleged fraud resulting in losses of at least $9bn.
  • Representing Charles Ridley, who was imprisoned in Dubai more than a decade ago for his part in a $500m fraud scheme, in seeking an injunction to procure his immediate release on the ground that the bank had breached a settlement agreement.

  • Acting as Privy Council agents in the appeal from the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. The appeal relates to the refusal by the courts below to give the appellants, two Anguillan incorporated banks which were licensed to carry out offshore banking business, leave to commence judicial review proceedings against the respondents.
  • Representing an Italian individual in relation to the £1m recovery of the principal of a loan made to an English company, pursuant to a loan agreement. The money was transferred to this company for the purpose of purchasing a warehouse, but had not been repaid in accordance with the loan agreement.
  • Representing an English-registered company in respect of responding to a demand for payment by a Danish trustee of a bankruptcy estate of a Danish-registered company regarding a transaction which took place in 2021.
