Andrew Nugent Smith
Andrew is Managing Director of KP Law, taking primary responsibility for the growth and direction of the firm. As a seasoned commercial litigator, he has a deep understanding of collective redress and litigation finance. Andrew established KP Law in 2019 and developed its practice to include claims in emissions, worker rights, data breach and privacy, financial products, investment fraud and mis-selling and competition. Andrew resolved claims for over 10,000 Uber drivers seeking redress for historic failures by the company to grant workers’ rights and is also representing Tesco store workers in a group action claim for unpaid wages. He also leads the firm’s case against VW, Vauxhall and Mercedes.
Duncan Hedar
Duncan Hedar has significant experience in group litigation and as a result, he, along with 3 partners, launched Lanier, Longstaff, Hedar and Roberts in 2022, a new UK law firm specialising in group litigation claims.    In addition to launching LLHR, over the past year, Duncan has been heavily involved in investigating and preparing the talcum powder claim and the Renault diesel emissions claim, in addition to other claims which have yet to be released into the public.   Duncan originally worked at a Magic Circle law firm where he was a managing associate and solicitor advocate, before he joined Exchange Chambers. To demonstrate his vast experience, Duncan has previously advised on the following:     Two major multi-national energy companies in relation to numerous High Court procurement challenges arising from a multi-billion-pound energy infrastructure project.   A number of major multi-national energy companies and their subsidiaries in High Court proceedings relating to the decision of the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to award contracts for difference facilitating the construction of some of the world’s largest offshore wind farms in the North Sea.   Mobile operator Three in High Court judicial review proceedings and a subsequent appeal to the Court of Appeal, in respect of Ofcom’s application of competition measures in the £1.3 billion Public Sector Spectrum Release auction process.   The Government of Timor-Leste in a dispute with Australia before the International Court of Justice relating to the seizure of data and documents by Australian intelligence officers.   Lloyds Banking Group in judicial review proceedings of significant public interest relating to the sale of PPI.   The representative beneficiaries of IBM’s defined benefit pension scheme against IBM in High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings relating to the closure of the scheme and the scope of the employer’s duty of good faith.   A major telecoms provider on the potential impact of US sanctions and regulatory measures applying to Huawei.   A major multinational investment bank in relation to an FCA investigation into its compliance with transaction reporting regulations.   A major international accountancy and business services firm in relation to US, UK and UAE regulatory investigations and US court proceedings arising from an alleged multi-billion-dollar private equity fraud.   A major telecoms company in relation to an Ofcom investigation into alleged breaches of the Communications Act 2003.   A major retail bank in relation to an FCA investigation relating to the sale of packaged bank accounts.  
Hannah Wright Jones
Hannah is a Legal Director, whose work concerns group actions spanning KP Law’s emissions cases and investment fraud and mis-selling claims. She is also involved in instances concerning exchange failings, particularly where investors have lost money as the result of outages and disruption as in the case of Binance and the London Metal Exchange. Hannah’s practice also concerns shareholder disputes, helping investors to seek redress under Section 90 of the Financial Services and Markets Act based on losses as a result of misleading statements or omissions made in public disclosures.
Kingsley Hayes
Kingsley is Head of Data and Privacy Litigation at KP Law. He is an expert in data protection and data privacy, being one of the first solicitors in the UK to recognise the growing need for robust data protection with the rise of cyberattacks online. Kingsley has worked on a group action claim against Ticketmaster, fighting for compensation for those affected by a vast data breach at the company. He presently represents more than 16,000 claimants in a group action case against EasyJet concerning a 2020 data breach and undertook a group action claim representing British Airways customers affected by a similar breach in 2018. He is currently leading a class of over 17,000 in litigation against the Police Federation for inadequate data protection practices.
Lesley-Ann Ainsworth
Lesley-Ann is a Senior Associate and assists with the day-to-day conduct of our various individual, group and multi-claimant actions. Lesley-Ann has been instrumental in the emissions scandal actions brought by KP Law against Volkswagen and Vauxhall. She has helped the Firm build on group litigation to uphold workers’ rights in the gig economy, as well as seek damages from cryptoasset-linked investment fraud.
Mark Kenkre
Mark heads the Investment Fraud and Mis-Selling team at KP Law, specialising in complex and sensitive commercial disputes and fraud cases. Mark is an expert at managing international litigation and litigation financing. Mark is leading a number of the group claims for the firm including claims against the London Metal Exchange together with the actions against the crypto exchanges Binance and Nexo to obtain losses for investors using all of these platforms. He has also supported a significant number of British Armed Forces veterans who were mis-sold private pensions together with groups of professional sportspeople who have been victim to investment fraud or mis-selling, making claims over their financial losses and the emotional distress they experienced.
Tom Longstaff
Tom has significant experience in group litigation and as a result, he, along with 3 partners, launched Lanier, Longstaff, Hedar and Roberts LLP in 2022, a new UK law firm specialising in group litigation claims. Over the past year, Tom has been heavily involved in investigating and preparing the talcum powder claim and the Renault diesel emissions claim, in addition to other claims which have yet to be released into the public.   As a demonstration of Tom’s expertise, he has been instructed on several major group litigation claims in recent years, including numerous emissions group actions such as Volkswagen, Volkswagen 2, and Mercedes, and was also previously instructed on the group litigation which followed the collapse of Fundão Dam in the state of Minas Gerais, on behalf of local businesses in Brazil who had suffered significant loss and devastation as a result of the actions of the large Australian mining company, BHP Billiton.  Tom has a broad commercial practice, with experience in litigation at all stages, from pre-action through to trial, as well as in appeals in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.  He regularly appears in the High Court in complex and high-value cases, and often against more senior Counsel.   Tom also has experience in arbitration, including in disputes administered by LCIA, SIAC, and ad hoc rules, often with a substantial international dimension.
