Lei Dat & Baig Solicitors was established in 2006 by Naeem Baig, an experienced immigration solicitor.  Naeem’s vision for the firm was to become a well-known, affordable and high quality law firm serving the North West, with its specialism in immigration and human rights work. We are now recognised as one of the leading firms in the Liverpool/Merseyside area providing specialist immigration and asylum/human rights services to clients throughout the country.

Immigration: It is our work in the field of immigration for which we are particularly well known and sought after. Since Lei Dat & Baig was established, we have demonstrated a solid commitment to the provision of quality legal advice and representation in all matters relating to immigration, asylum and human rights law. It is a niche area of law encompassing some of the most complex and constantly evolving legal issues.

Our dedication to the field of immigration, asylum and human rights work is demonstrated through our long-standing reputation with clients both locally and nationally. The ongoing demand for our services is significant.

Legal aid immigration: Lei Dat & Baig Solicitors has held a contract with the Legal Aid Agency to provide publicly funded immigration and asylum advice and assistance since 2010. We strongly believe in the right for all clients to access to quality advice and representation, regardless of their means. Our head of legal aid department Mr Ibrar Hussain has worked tirelessly to build a very viable, caring and above all very focused team to meet the needs of its clients from across the globe.

Under our legal aid contracts, we are able to take on over a thousand new cases each year from our Liverpool and Manchester offices. This renders us one of the busiest and most sought-after firms outside of London. In the last 14 years, we are proud to have advised and represented over ten thousand legal aid clients.

Private immigration: Led by founding director, Naeem Baig, the firm has a thriving private client department. The work undertaken by Lei Dat & Baig in this sector is ever-growing and there is an increasing demand for our services in this area.

Our services are entirely client-focused. We want to offer the highest quality service at an affordable rate and achieve the best possible outcomes. We have incentives for existing and returning clients by offering them a discounted rate. This enables us to retain continuity of representation and many of our clients have been with us for many years. The vast majority of our new business is through word of mouth referrals from former or existing clients. Our excellent success rate results in a lot of repeat business.

We have a wealth of experience in representing clients from the First Tier Tribunal to the Court of Appeal.  We also have many of our cases heard in the High Court in Judicial Review actions.  We have dedicated court advocates as well as having excellent links and relationships with experienced counsel in the relevant area of law.

We pride ourselves in being able to assist a client from their initial entry to the UK right through to  naturalising as a British Citizen.

We class ourselves as a compassionate firm and take great pride and dedication in helping vulnerable clients, especially victims of torture, trafficking and suffers of domestic abuse.  We also take great pride in assisting other clients including professionals, domestic workers, and those coming to the UK under the points based system.

We are extremely successful in Tier 2 and Tier 5 applications, as well as Judicial Review actions against refusals of entry clearance, where there is no longer a right of appeal and also where there are compelling human considerations including family life, and particular vulnerabilities such as medical conditions including HIV.

Family law: Lei Dat & Baig Solicitors offers specialist quality advice and representation in all Family law matters including;

Conveyancing: We operate a thriving conveyancing department led by Peter Jeremy Bown offering services including sale and purchase, commercial transactions, involving leases, sub-lease and under leases, assignment and transfer of lease.  We are experts in assisting clients with the purchase of both residential and commercial premises at auction houses across the North West and the firm has an excellent rapport with Venmores and Sutton Kersh auctioneers.

The firm has been placed on the Lenders Panel for clients obtaining property with a mortgage from various lenders.

Wills and probate: Our specialist solicitor has over 30 years’ experience working in this field.

Through the requirement for constant reaccreditation, our staff are able to demonstrate that their knowledge and skills in this sector remain up to date and are externally assessed as such.
