Before founding his own law firm, Mr Saavedra worked as an assistant attorney at the law firm Peña Cediel Abogados, as a legal adviser in the Social Integration Department and at the Urban Development Institute in Bogotá, and as the legal coordinator of ports and trains in the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI).

In 2016, Mr Saavedra was accepted by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá to be part of the list of Secretaries of Arbitration of the Center of Arbitration and Conciliation after he approved the exam with a score of 97 over 100, granting him the first place.

During his time at the National Infrastructure Agency, he was appointed as the delegate on the team in charge of drafting the Public Private Partnership (PPPs) Law, which has become the most important vehicle to reduce the infrastructure gap that exists in Colombia.

He has the Foundation and Preparation CP3P certifications from APMG that certify him as an expert in Public-Private Partnerships. This accreditation program is organized by the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, and the World Bank.

Among his publications are: “Compensation for moral damages derived from the violation of Human Rights in the inter-American system and the Council of State”, “Towards a regime of Public-Private Associations in Colombia: from Bureaucracy to Governance”, “Public Private Partnerships: a demanding strategy”, “The port concession contract: an instrument for the modernization of Colombia”

Mr Saavedra is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), a certified Legal Practice Practitioner of the International Institute of Legal Project Management and is author of the ublic Private Partnerships Chapter (Colombia) for Lexology.
