Career

As a founding partner of BG&A Corporate Attorneys in 1997, he has directed the Law Firm with a clear business ideology: separating from the typical structure of law firms to create a different way of exercising the law.

He had worked since the beginning of his studies and had had the opportunity to know the operation of large traditional firms and boutique firms, what allowed him to developed his own work ideology that drives his different companies and projects, all of which combine with high technology as an inseparable tool for the progress and protection of its customers.

From the very beginning of his professional career, he had the opportunity to provide professional services to important local and international companies such as Holcim, Productos de Concreto, Concretera Nacional, Mexichem, Pretensados Nacionales, Grupo Progreso, Grupo Leumi, among many others, which allows him to strengthen his skills in corporate and business law in a broad sense, covering commercial, labour, private and administrative contracting, civil law, credit and collection, and other related areas.

He has been an external lawyer for important public institutions such as Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (since 2006), Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal (since 2012), Banco de Costa Rica (since 2010), Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (since 1998), Municipalidad de San José and Fodesaf, as well as an external notary public of Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (since 2009), Instituto Nacional de Vivienda y Urbanismo (1999-2003), and Instituto Mixto de Ayuda Social (2001- 2009).

His experience in condominium and real estate law made him a legal advisor in many construction projects for prestigious real estate groups, such as Garnier & Garnier Desarrollos Inmobiliarios, Grupo Leumi, Amador Inmobiliaria, Condominios Residenciales Los Sauces, Civitar, among others. Due to the knowledge acquired, he developed a technological tool that allows the structuring, control and monitoring of real estate projects to give speed and effectiveness at every step of the process, minimizing the risk of human error.

In 2006 he was appointed as Legal Director for Spain and Latin America of SEK International Institution, extending his obligations in 2007 to Global Legal Coordinator (CLO) of the SEK-IES Group, having legal responsibility and legal control in all areas of law for all countries where SEK has a presence in Africa, America and Europe, in all its different business such as educational, labour, sports, food and real estate businesses that are developed.

As a litigator in different branches, he has been the principal attorney in more than a thousand trials during his career, with almost perfect success record. Litigation is one of the areas of practice that he is most passionate about.

His recognized professional capacity has made him a constant source of consultation for the different media in the country. He is also a regular trainer in different areas of law for the business and legal segment.
