Paul is a Jersey Advocate and English Solicitor (non-practising) and one of the founding partners of Steenson Nicholls.
Paul specialises in complex international financial litigation including contentious trust, commercial disputes as well as civil fraud and asset recovery and is an experienced courtroom lawyer.
Paul qualified as an English Solicitor in 1993 and worked in London as a solicitor for Irwin Mitchell LLP before moving to Jersey in 2002.
Paul was admitted as a Jersey Advocate in 2006 and was a Partner of a global offshore law firm from 2008 to 2017. Paul headed up the Jersey office’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice before leaving the firm to start up his own Jersey law firm, Nicholls Law.
Paul is a member of the Law Society of Jersey, the Law Society of England and Wales, the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), the Victims of Crime Association of Lawyers (VOCAL), the Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts and the Commercial Fraud Lawyers Association.

Steenson Nicholls LLP‘ name partners David Steenson and Paul Nicholls are active in a number of proceeds of crime and asset freezing cases, typically representing individuals in proceedings against the Jersey Attorney General, as well as in criminal fraud cases.
A litigation boutique formed in January 2019 by the merger of two eponymous practices, Steenson Nicholls LLP‘ two name partners David Steenson and Paul Nicholls are active in numerous cases, with a focus on trust litigation including some of the biggest cases – both partners are involved in the Crociani saga for Camilla Crociani – as well as professional negligence cases and other work. Locally-qualified Nicholas Mière is a key senior associate in the practice.
