Career

Markus Kreuzberg is a patent attorney and an equity partner at BDPE in Dusseldorf, a service boutique specializing in the representation of clients in litigation and prosecution proceedings for intellectual property rights.

He has extensive experience in the implementation of patent and utility model law and has in-depth knowledge of international legal practice in the IP field, not least due to the support of clients also operating outside Europe. Further areas of expertise are the law on employees’ inventions, trademark law and the protection of designs. He represents clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG), the European Patent Office (EPO), the Office of the European Union for Intellectual Property (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Markus Kreuzberg has been an equity partner at BDPE since 2019 and has been active in the field of intellectual property since 2005. Prior to the establishment of the new firm, he was a partner and, since 2014, equity partner of Braun-Dullaeus Pannen Patent- und Rechtsanwälte. Markus Kreuzberg completed his training and spent his first years of practice as a patent attorney until 2010 at the patent and law firm BPSH in Düsseldorf. During his training as a patent attorney, he worked at the Patent Litigation Chamber of the District Court of Düsseldorf, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the German Federal Patent Court. Prior to his training as a patent attorney, Markus Kreuzberg worked for several years as an engineer in the metalworking industry, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of new production processes. In addition, he gained experience as an environmental engineer in the implementation of complex legal requirements in practice. He studied process engineering at the Technical University Clausthal and technical environmental protection at the Technical University Berlin.
