The firm: Rodin & Partners was launched in 2017 by a partner of international law firm CMS Dr Artem Rodin and senior associate of a US law firm Dechert Mr Timur Djabbarov, who being a former colleague took a decision after more than ten years of private practice with international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Dentons and Nörr to unite their efforts and establish an independent law firm.

Rodin & Partners started as a law firm with two partners and three associates focused mainly on dispute resolution, including international arbitration and litigation, and infrastructure, energy and public-private partnership projects. However, over the time the number of practice areas of the firm has grown simultaneously with the number of associates of the firm (from three at the initial stage to 12 in one year). Currently transportation, insurance, real estate, banking & finance and insolvency are separate practices of the firm.

Areas of practice
Arbitration: The interests of clients and saving their money are of the highest importance for Rodin & Partners and as a result many disputes where Rodin & Partners represent claimants end up in a settlement. Rodin & Partners are successfully representing international and national clients on international arbitration cases in various arbitration institutes, including arbitration under the rules of the World Trade Chamber (Paris), arbitration under the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration, arbitration under the rules of the Arbitration institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, arbitration under the rules of the Vienna International Arbitration Centre (Vienna Rules), Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai International Arbitration centres as well as International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Trade and Commerce of Russia (Moscow).

Litigation: Rodin & Partners are successfully representing its clients before state courts and tribunals, including commercial disputes, insurance and antitrust disputes, bankruptcy cases as well as disputes with public authorities, with a main focus on environmental disputes.

Infrastructure and Public-Private Partnerships:  Rodin & Partners provide investors legal advice on all aspects of Infrastructure and Public-Private Partnership projects, including participation in public tenders, establishment of consortiums, negotiating agreements with governmental authorities, construction companies and financing institution, advising on operational issues and successful restructuring of the projects. The firm is experienced in transport (roads, railroads, ports, airports), public utilities (water, wastewater, waste management), healthcare, IT and energy infrastructure projects.

Dr Artem Rodin has many years of experience advising on infrastructure and Public-Private Partnership projects in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa and leads this practice.

Transportation: Rodin & Partners is advising international production and trading companies on their contracts with transportation companies, including transhipment agreement, freight-forwarding contracts, lease of rolling stock contracts etc. Furthermore, the firm is advising on establishment of joint-ventures between major production and trading companies enabling effective transportation of special products (gases, petrochemicals etc).
