Pupil Barrister

George specialises in public law through the sphere of immigration, asylum and nationality law.

Before joining commencing his career at the Bar, George gained significant experience at the UK Home Office. He spent one year as a Judicial Review Litigator where he assessed the defensibility of judicial reviews lodged against the SSHD and instructed government lawyers accordingly. His Home Office insight made him particularly experienced in removals, the points-based system and certification. In his second year he appeared in the First-Tier Tribunal as a Presenting Officer in more than 250 appeals. He was responsible for defending a heavy weekly caseload, concentrating on all human rights and asylum claims, EEA, and entry clearance.

He was involved in a number of high profile cases and is highly recommended for matters of deception (TOEIC, HMRC and DWP), sham marriages, deportation, LGBT matters and bails. Since commencing his practice, George has maintained a heavy caseload for Appellants in the First-tier and Upper Tribunals. He also accepts instructions from Government as a member of the Attorney-General’s ‘Junior Junior Barrister’ panel.
