Career

A founding partner of CGM, Martim has worked for almost three decades advising companies from various sectors, especially international clients, on various businesses and projects, such as the legal structuring of investments in Brazil, mergers and acquisitions, financing, corporate reorganizations, and drafting/negotiating contracts in general (mainly distribution, supply, and service agreements). Over his career, he has worked for luxury/fashion brands, software companies, consumer goods manufacturers, steel and mining companies, basic industries, and professional service providers, among others. Although he specializes in contracts and corporate law, Martim is a generalist with a broad and strategic vision. He is an adept coordinator, gathering efforts from other areas of law, always with the objective of solving problems to accomplish business and implement projects with legal security in an efficient and creative fashion.

Before founding CGM, Martim worked for Mayer Brown in New York and for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C., mainly in infrastructure project finance.

He is recognized in national and international legal publications as a leading lawyer in Brazil for corporate and M&A, and various industry sectors.
