Position

Chris specialises in advising both in relation to mid-market corporate finance transactions (including takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, reconstructions, public issues on AIM and securities regulations generally) and on a range of wealth advisory issues. He works extensively with overseas clients on inward UK investment work and has considerable experience of acting on cross-border transactions. Chris also provides advice to individuals, family offices and private banks. His particular focus is in working on wealth protection and succession issues for owner managers and family businesses.

Among other highlights, practice head Matthew Martin advised the shareholders of Oscar Mayer Group on its sale to a new vehicle set up by a German private equity fund; Ross McNaughton acted for Klareco Communications on its separation from Bell Pottinger out of administration; senior associate Gemma Davis assisted Aprirose with the £70m acquisition of a portfolio of pubs from Mitchells & Butlers; and Christopher Owen advised NewsQuest Media Group on the acquisitions of news publishers in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight and Berkshire.
