Position

Matthew is a partner in the corporate group and the firm’s retail sector group. He provides board level corporate advice to a wide range of quoted and owner-managed mid-cap companies. In addition to expertise in acquisitions and disposals, AIM listings and fund raising, he also advises on restructuring and refinancing work for clients and lenders.

Among other highlights, practice head Matthew Martin advised the shareholders of Oscar Mayer Group on its sale to a new vehicle set up by a German private equity fund; Ross McNaughton acted for Klareco Communications on its separation from Bell Pottinger out of administration; senior associate Gemma Davis assisted Aprirose with the £70m acquisition of a portfolio of pubs from Mitchells & Butlers; and Christopher Owen advised NewsQuest Media Group on the acquisitions of news publishers in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight and Berkshire. Stephen Goldstraw, Melvin Pedro, James Klein (who practises in London and San Francisco) and consultant Teja Picton-Howell are also noted.
