Position
A partner in the London office, Sarah is an accomplished sailor and yachtmaster who has competed internationally and worked on yachts. She has developed particular expertise in yacht-related matters and advises owners, managers and yards on contracts relevant to superyacht operations, including charters and management agreements. She also advises on yacht and superyacht claims and disputes, including casualties and disputes under related contracts such as sale and purchase, build and refit, and charters.
Sarah is regularly instructed on a broad range of commercial shipping matters including charterparty and bill of lading disputes, and insurance claims. She advises on regulatory issues, including those arising from the Maritime Labour Convention and crewing generally. A fluent Spanish speaker, she also works alongside the personal injury team on accident claims.
Career
She qualified as a solicitor with Thomas Cooper in 2003 and subsequently spent two years working for an international group P&I club before joining another London shipping law firm where she was made partner in 2015. Sarah re-joined Thomas Cooper as a partner in 2018.
