Jon Layman represents companies in all stages of development, from start-up through public offerings and beyond. Jon focuses on clients in a variety of industries, including technology, internet, life sciences, clean technology, electronics and consumer products. He has significant experience counseling both public and private companies and their boards of directors on general corporate and corporate governance matters. In addition, Jon has extensive experience representing entrepreneurs and private companies on company formation, start-up activities and general corporate matters; and he represents companies, venture capital funds and strategic and corporate investors on debt and equity financing transactions. Jon also advises clients on U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, as well as on a variety of other corporate matters, including joint ventures, strategic investments, spin-offs and recapitalizations.


Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Jon was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, PC.
