Career

Hugo Hernández-Ojeda is a leader in the Labor and Employment practice in the Mexico City office. He focuses on labor and employment, pensions, investigations, and social security law.

He began his professional career in 1991 at Barrera, Siqueiros y Torres Landa (now Hogan Lovells BSTL) in civil and immigration law. In 2001 he founded his own firm. Seven years later, he rejoined Barrera Siqueiros y Torres Landa (now Hogan Lovells BSTL) as partner.

Education

Hugo completed his law degree at Universidad Anáhuac del Sur (1990-1995). He has completed various postgraduate diplomas and specialty courses in labor and social security at Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad Panamericana, Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, the “Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa Colegio de Abogados,” the Mexican Bar Association, and the Department of Labor and Social Welfare.

Leisure

Hugo has given conferences and webinars on labor-related matters for various associations, universities, and organizations, such as ANADE, Asociación Mexicana en Dirección de Recursos Humanos, USMBA, IBA, University of Texas, Universidad Panamericana, Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey, and the Cámara Nacional del Comercio y la Industria de la Transformación, among others. He is the author of several articles published in Latin Lawyer, Abogado Corporativo, and The International Comparative Legal Guide, among others.
