Owen Chan is a banking and finance lawyer whose practice has a focus on cross-border transactions in Hong Kong and mainland China. Owen advises a range of financial institutions and funds on structured finance involving cross-border lending and security issues in acquisition, real estate and fund finance. Owen also advises on banking regulatory, restructuring, and insolvency issues in Hong Kong and mainland China.
Hogan Lovells provides a full-service banking offering that includes structured and cross-border finance, real estate finance, leveraged and acquisition finance, alternative lending and fund financing, pre-IPO finance and asset finance. The practice is focused on both sponsor-led and corporate acquisition finance. The team is headed by Owen Chan, who counts international financial institutions, PE funds, and multinational companies amongst his clientele. Jonathan Leitch joined as partner from DLA Piper.
Hogan Lovells International LLP‘s full-service Greater China banking and finance practice focuses on high-value and complex transactions, including structured and cross-border finance, real estate, acquisition and fund financing, and pre-IPO and asset finance. It is particularly known for onshore and offshore financings that involve PRC banks and borrowers. Beijing-based Jun Wei‘s broad practice includes project finance; and working across the Shanghai and Hong Kong offices, counsel Shantay Cong has a focus on cross-border financing transactions. Owen Chan leads the Greater China team of international banking and finance lawyers from the Hong Kong office, which was joined by restructuring and special situations partner, Jonathan Leitch, in 2020 from DLA Piper.
