Career

Magdalena Kowara combines guiding clients through Polish and EU competition and State Aid law, consumer law, and advising in the energy industry sector.

Her professional experience covers advising clients in proceedings carried out by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, and the European Commission both in regard to merger control and antitrust issues; and proceedings concerning infringements of the collective interests of consumers, as well as in any subsequent court proceedings. She also advises on the antitrust and State Aid aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions, and on project compliance with EU State Aid law.

Magdalena assists clients in dawn raids conducted by the competition authority, as well as provides dawn raid trainings. She also advises on commercial agreements, distribution systems, pricing policies, and on the companies’ day-to-day business.

Magdalena also has extensive experience in the oil and gas and energy sectors (including renewable energy). She represents clients in the proceedings before the Energy Regulation Office; advises on the commercial and regulatory aspects of their business activity including commercial agreements, distribution systems, and rebate schemes. Magdalena has also successfully taken part in energy sector-related transactions and due diligence of renewable energy systems projects in Poland.
