Clients rely on Maria Durant’s counsel in connection with internal corporate and government investigations, government enforcement actions, and complex civil litigation, including qui tam actions and multi-district litigation. Maria’s experience includes virtually every type of investigation including false claims, anti-kickback, Stark laws, healthcare fraud and other related misrepresentations.
With expansive experience representing clients in the Life Sciences and Health Care industry, Maria counsels medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, health service organizations, and individual providers. She also serves clients in the environmental, real estate, financial services, and construction industries.
Maria recognizes the importance of sound legal advice to her clients’ continued financial health and success. She partners with clients to resolve the most challenging legal issues while minimizing risk and disruption. Clients rely upon her practical, business-minded approach to finding legal solutions that meet their business needs.
Previously with Collora LLP, now the Boston office of Hogan Lovells, Maria has been with the firm for over 25 years with a brief sabbatical when she served as a special assistant district attorney in Massachusetts. At Collora LLP, Maria served in a variety of administrative and management roles for the firm including Associate Liaison, Hiring Partner, and Ethics Committee Chair.
Believing firmly that lawyers have a responsibility to serve the communities in which they work and live, Maria spends a fair amount of her time outside of work in service to the bar and to indigent clients.
