Career

Since qualifying in the early nineties, Gillian has advised on the procurement of domestic and international construction and engineering projects. Based out of our London office, she has worked with companies in sectors as diverse as real estate development to state-of-the-art renewable energy schemes and mining in some of the remotest parts of the planet. Understanding and advising clients on the allocation of that risk is what Gillian enjoys most, especially where a new or unusual situation requires a creative solution to make the deal happen.

She is familiar with the range of procurement approaches adopted for development projects in different sectors and what this means for the developers, contractors, and technical service providers who participate in those developments. As a transactional lawyer, Gillian will most often advise on and draft the initial deal documentation but will often continue to assist a client during the development phase of a project to find a way through the impact of practical matters that inevitably arise in construction and engineering projects.
