Wouter Jongen is an English and Netherlands law qualified finance partner at Hogan Lovells Amsterdam and has a special interest in (private equity related) acquisition and real estate financings, acting both for borrowers and lenders. During his career, he has spent several years in London (including on secondment at a large investment bank) and Amsterdam developing an in-depth knowledge of the UK and Dutch markets. Wouter frequently lectures in the LL.M. programme on international financial law at both King’s College (London) and the University of Amsterdam. Wouter is listed in all relevant legal directories as a ‘leading lawyer’.

Wouter Jongen and Robert Masman head up the borrower side practice at Hogan Lovells International LLP, which has particular expertise in unitranche debt. The team has worked extensively with private equity client Egeria, including handling the refinancing of three of its portfolio companies; Jongen led the advice. In other work, Masman assisted Struik Foods with arranging its club financing. Masman advised ABN Amro as issuer counsel on its €40bn retained covered bonds programme backed by residential mortgage loans. Together with Jongen, he also assisted Petrobras Global Finance, the Dutch financing vehicle of Petróleo Brasileiro, with various multibillion-dollar debt raisings in the debt capital markets.
