Anna Belova is acting for an oil corporation in the enforcement of a Russian court judgment in a number of EU jurisdictions. In other work, Eugene Perkunov is representing British American Tobacco in a dispute with a minority shareholder in its Russian subsidiary for the recovery of nearly $300m.
Hogan Lovells (CIS)’ expertise spans cross-border trade finance transactions, restructuring and aircraft finance transactions. Counsel and practice head Alexander Gasparyan is experienced in English and foreign law asset finance, trade, commodities and export financing, and has been notably active in aircraft leasing where he advised South African-based Nedbank on the multi-jurisdictional refinancing of its credit portfolio concerning three Boeing 777-200ER aircraft leased to VIM Airlines. In another highlight, he assisted Bank Otrkitie Financial Corporation and Rigensis Bank as lenders and facility agents with $100m-worth of financing granted to Med Sea Health, a major hotel operator in Greece, by way of issuance of the bond notes secured by the guarantees of Russian and Greek investors. Senior associate Oleg Gritsenko is recommended for structured finance and syndicated lending.
Hogan Lovells (CIS)' dispute practice is led by Alexei Dudko, who is 'an outstanding litigator and strategist’, and includes Denis Almakaev and Eugene Perkunov. The practice is notably involved in cross-border disputes in the white-collar crime, insolvency and product liability space, and counts Rosneft and Alibaba.com as recent clients. The team is representing the Russian Deposit Insurance Agency in complex multi-jurisdictional proceedings relating to fraud and insolvency charges against a Russian individual.

Hogan Lovells (CIS) focuses on asset finance, trade and export finance and regulatory work in the areas of railway, aviation and transport infrastructure. The ‘quick and competent’ team is jointly led by Oxana Balayan and recently promoted counsel Alexander Gasparyan, who is assisting Scat Airlines with the purchase of aircraft.
Real estate and construction Tier 4
At Hogan Lovells (CIS), notable clients include Turkish real estate contractor Ant Yapi and Alibaba. The team advised Host Broadcast Services, the official broadcaster of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, on various contractor agreements as well as on the construction of the International Broadcast Centre for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The group also assisted another client with matters regarding the construction and operation of a large logistics complex in central Russia. Oxana Balayan is the key contact.
