Career

Victoria specialises in will drafting, powers of attorney, administration of estates, and Court of Protection applications.  She has a particular interest in advice for clients who are older or vulnerable.

Victoria grew up locally and went to St Anne’s College, Oxford, where she studied Latin and Greek, graduating in 2000.  After university, Victoria moved to Kyushu in Japan to study Japanese and teach English for one year before she went to BPP University Law School in London to study her Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC), graduating in 2003.

Victoria did her solicitor training at a West Country law firm qualifying in 2005 then practiced in Bristol and Bath specialising in Private Client work. She moved to Wales in 2010 to raise her family and during her time there learnt to speak Welsh fluently.  Victoria moved back to Hertfordshire and joined Longmores in 2019.

Victoria has a wide range of expertise, including:

  • Wills and trusts
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Advising people who lack mental capacity and cannot make their own decisions, such as people with illnesses, those with conditions such as dementia, or people with learning difficulties
  • Advising parents who have adult or minor children with learning difficulties or who need extra support (for example, because they have been in an accident that has affected their ability to care for themselves)
  • Making Court of Protection applications to appoint a Deputy to look after the affairs of someone who lacks mental capacity
  • Care funding including deferred payment agreements
  • Advice about NHS Continuing Healthcare funding – applying, challenging decisions, and obtaining backdated funding

Victoria is a member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) holding their Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients, a member of the Law Society Private Client section, and is accredited by Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
