Position

Tom is a US corporate and capital markets partner and co-head of our newly established Risk, Regulation and Governance Operational Intelligence Group. He has been based in London for over a decade.Tom also has experience in strategic planning and business development. Tom has significant experience in M&A and equity capital markets transactions in the United States, Europe and South Africa, having acted as the lead US adviser on a number of high-profile and complex transactions in recent years. He also provides US corporate law and SEC-reporting advice to a number of the firm’s largest clients. Key clients include AMEC, Gold Fields, Murray and Roberts, National Grid, RBS, Rio Tinto, Sibanye, Vodafone.

In another matter, which concerns a client's worldwide operations, Shropshire is acting for a global corporate in an assessment of its corporate governance structure and practices, and the effectiveness of its compliance procedures. Shropshire is also assisting another global company with an internal investigation into its operations in Latin America. Vanessa Havard-Williams, who demonstrates 'first-class judgment', has expertise in human rights and sustainability issues, environmental and product safety, and crisis management, among other areas.
