Andrew VickeryLinklaters LLP

Linklaters LLP has ‘high-quality, accessible, partners with broad asset experience, and a deep bench of high-quality associates enabling them to take on deals of all sizes‘. Widely acknowledged as one of the leading securitisation firms in London, it has an eight-partner team working as part of an integrated securitisation and structured finance practice that covers the full range of asset classes, including both “true-sale” asset securitisations involving mortgage-backed securities, trade receivables and non-performing loans, as well as whole-business deals. In 2019, the firm advised lead managers on the first UK master trust issuance to qualify as STS under the new securitisation regulations. Its work also included the largest UK RMBS in 2019 and the year’s largest UK portfolio sale. Practice head Andrew Vickery is ‘probably the number one structured finance partner in London with the best combination of outright legal ability and commercialism‘. Also recommended are James Harbach for RMBS, CMBS and real estate deals; founder of the structured finance and global securitisation practice Julian Davies; Adam Fogarty for RMBS, CMBS and ABS; Alexander Shopov, who also handles ABCP, covered bonds and challenging new asset classes; and junior partners Mark Nuttall and Reza Taylor. Newly promoted partner Thomas Quoroll handles loan portfolio sales and advises sponsors and arrangers on asset-backed financing.
