David Swain is the Head of Intellectual Property in Hong Kong and is dual qualified in England & Wales and Hong Kong. David’s practice involves working with multi-national and national clients on a range of cross-border and local non-contentious IP issues. His main focus is advising clients in relation to commercial/transactional IP matters including complex licensing, assignment, manufacturing, services, and distribution agreements, and the IP aspects of corporate transactions.


David trained at Simmons & Simmons in London and qualified in 2010 before moving to Hong Kong to join Deacons in 2014. David joined Lewis Silkin in 2021 as a Partner.

David was on secondment to GlaxoSmithKline where he advised on the sale and purchase of H1N1 vaccine to the Ministries of Health in numerous countries in the Middle East and North Africa and on numerous distribution agreements in the CIS.
