Stephen Jones is a Partner in the Clinical Negligence department at Leigh Day.
He was National Practice Development Leader at Slater & Gordon but now heads up Leigh Day's Manchester clinical negligence team. Stephen has long been recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers as one of the leading individuals in the North West. (Band 1 in previous editions of Legal500 and Chambers).

Stephen is an AvMA and Law Society specialist panel member who has achieved many multi million pound awards for clients. He frequently represents children in cerebral palsy claims, consistently securing million pound plus awards including lump sums or capitalised equivalents of £1.675m (2014), £1.85m (2012), £6.43m (2011), 6m (2010), £1.2m (2008), £1.01m (2007), £2.35m, 1.875m, £1.5m (all 2006), £1m (2005), £3.4m (2004), £1.1m (2003) and £3.25m (2000).

Stephen has a specific interest in Inquiry work; he represented over patients at Ashworth Hospital in the Fallon Inquiry (1999); acted as a solicitor to the Royal Liverpool Children's Inquiry (Alder Hey Hospital, reported 2002) and the Redfern Inquiry into tissue sampling in UK nuclear facilites (reported 2010); and as well as regularly representing families at inquests has been appointed in various cases to act for HM Coroner for Manchester as solicitor to the inquest.



Joined Leigh Day as a Partner in 2015 from Pannone (now Slater and Gordon); qualified in 1986.
