Clinical negligence.

Claire has been regularly ranked over the years as one of the leaders in the field. Claire’s experience covers claims ranging from those of maximum severity to those that are less severe. Her particular areas of expertise and specialisation are in claims for children and adults who have suffered profound and permanent brain, spinal or neurological injury and associated disability or death as a consequence of failings in medical care in both NHS and private hospitals. Her experience in these types of claims is extensive and it includes claims and inquests arising from obstetric, neo-natal, paediatric, anaesthetic, neurological, spinal, surgical, cardiac and emergency care. Claire’s recent work includes claims arising from maternal death due to post-partum infection; adult brain injury due to anaesthetic negligence, infant cerebral palsy caused by negligent obstetric and/or neonatal care; profound neurological injury due to anaesthetic errors, loss of kidney due to kidney transplant care, spinal and neurological injury arising from failure to diagnose and appropriately treat spinal and orthopaedic injury. Recent successes include claims for children and adults with profound brain injury and consequent cerebral palsy resulting from obstetric and anaesthetic negligence and for adults with spinal injury and consequent disability resulting from spinal surgery in which she recovered substantial lump sums plus significant periodical payments for life.
